Leicester City of Sanctuary runs its main drop-in centre for refugees and asylum seekers every Wednesday afternoon 11am to 2 pm at Holy Cross, 45 Wellington Street, Leicester. LE1 6HW.
They teach people to use computers, run sewing classes, a knitting circle and other craft activities. They have games for adults and children’s toys. Come and meet us and see what we do – and learn why we need to do it.

Among other things we:
Run a drop-in centre with arts, crafts and other courses at the Bridge.
Run computer and sewing classes at Booth Hall, St Martins House
Arrange outings and social activities
Run ESOL classes (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the English Language Teaching Unit, University of Leicester and Wednesday at Booth Hall, St Martins House)
Run NEST (the New Evidence Search Team) which helps asylum seekers find evidence to support their claims.
Maintain a small ‘Hardship Fund’ to help people in crisis
Help source items of need for asylum seekers through our Appealing4 scheme
Give talks and presentations to tell people what it is really like to be an asylum seeker
